At the Staten Island Advance, design for the print edition played an important role in how this suburb of New York City consumed and learned about trends in food, culture, entertainment, and lifestyle.
Because the budget was small and the deadline was tight, we had to get creative with our limited resources and leaned heavily on photo illustration, handout art, and plenty of design embellishments. These tools carried on throughout my career when clients often have small budgets for art production.
